I have been a florist since I left school worked in a floral studio/ garden centre /pet shop called the Flower Shop ,also joined the local Floral Art taught me a different aspect of floral art , passing the competition levels quickly which ended up only able to do displays ,after 2 years moved to Wellington worked for Waugh Florist,Mr Coombes (owner) passed on his wealth of knowledge/ skills to me which I am forever grateful. I ended up managing Waugh’s Floral Studio for 2 years during that time,also had the honour of doing flowers for the Late Princess Diana of Wales ,also due to working near Parliament and Wellington central city gave me great exposure to work for and meet Ministers and celebrities and at the same time gained diplomas to be a qualified florist
Moving to Auckland decided this is the time to open my own business in 1994 ,As Jan Maree Flowers is based in Auckland , New Zealand,we are now one of the longest most establish family owned florist in Auckland.
We decided to do a advertise campaign on the Breeze ,The Rock ,News Talk ZB Auckland proved to be such a success,we then decided to try the new station More FM which really worked so well for us it built a platform for our new our business,having great success all year round with Christmas ,Mother’s Day ,Valentine’s Day we could change offers according to the special occasion seasonal flowers,giving pleasure to many thousands of happy customers with bouquets , arrangements and gifts hampers
Being one of the first florist to create a website in Auckland the site was working well with our advertising campaign,but over the years we did need to change the looked of our web site many times ,but a year ago decided to do a massive over haul and worked long hours behind the scene to get it functioning better ,we wanted to keep the photos as natural as possible ,also making it easy to order and with huge range to choose from.
Our Flower wholesale is a new area of our business we are the first florist as of April 2020 due to do Clovid 19 we decided to set up click and collect or phone or text through the order,making it easier for customer to see what is stock and are able to order a single bunch ,bunches or a bouquet ready to collect on the way to visit some or collect on the way home.
We also now set up a subscribe form, customers signing up get the latest weekly & occasion special.
Flowers are brought fresh from the market 3 times a week ,getting the best quality and price all come down to experience buying of more than 20 years , which has been a bit part of building our business what it is today.
